One of the greatest challenges high school students face is reading textbooks and nonfiction. For many, this is a frustrating and time-consuming process, involving a lot of rereading. This program teaches the study skills students need to take control of their reading. Students learn a systematic approach to determine how information is organized and to identify main ideas and supporting details. They learn how to take organized notes to study for tests and writing papers. As a result, students are able to get through their textbook reading in less time, with greater concentration and comprehension. They retain more information and need to reread less. Students can rely on these study skills through high school, college, and beyond.
